Antoniya Toncheva received a master’s degree in Structural biochemistry (University of Bordeaux 2, France) in 2008 followed by a PhD degree in Macromolecular chemistry within the Laboratory of Bioactive Polymers (LBAP, IP-BAS) in 2012 under the supervision of prof. Iliya Rashkov. In 2013 she held an assistant professor position in the LBAP. Starting from January 2015 she moved to the Laboratory of Polymeric and Composite Materials (University of Mons, Belgium) under the supervision prof. Philippe Dubois for post-doctoral research as part of the BEWARE Fellowships Academia program. Her current scientific focus is on production of micro- and nanostructured materials from biocompatible and biodegradable polymers by electrospinning and reactive extrusion, their characterization and potential biomedical application. She has so far co-authored 9scientific publications in international journals, has participated in 8 grant agreements and is a frequent participant at internationalconferences.
